Weaving Stories in Puente Genil: XX National Meeting of Bolillo Lacemakers
Dear readers and lovers of fine work! In the beautiful corner of Puente Genil, the magic of bolillo will unfold next Saturday, March 2, 2024, at the “Manuel Reina” High School Institute. We are facing the XX National Meeting of Bolillo Lacemakers, a unique celebration that promises fabrics of friendship and creativity.
From 10:00 a.m. to 14:00 p.m., the Institute will become the epicenter of elegance and lace art. But, be careful! Inclement weather will not stop us; If the sky decides to play with the clouds, we will move with joy to the Sánchez Cuenca Sports Hall, because not even the rain can dampen the passion for bolillo.
The architect behind this wonderful day is the María Gorriz Women's Association, which with care and dedication has organized an event that promises to create unforgettable memories. The Puente Genil City Council also joins the celebration as a main collaborator, demonstrating its support for this tradition that intertwines threads and souls.

- We will say goodbye to the day with applause and smiles, followed by lunch for those who made their reservation. Knit and eat, because life is about enjoying every moment!
Puente Genil: Spinning Stories and Monuments
But Puente Genil is not only the setting for our meeting. This town, bathed by the waters of the Genil River, keeps stories among its streets that deserve to be told.
The Mother Parish of Our Lady of Purification is a witness to the changes and evolution of Puente Genil. Its bells, like threads that weave time, invite us to immerse ourselves in the past.
And we cannot forget the Roman Bridge, a symbol that connects shores and eras. Cross its arches and discover the legends that are hidden among its ancient stones. A perfect place to reflect on the union of threads and bridges, both in history and in our work.
