Segovian Embroidery

Description

This embroidery is typical of Segovia. It is characterized by the “counted threads” technique. The motifs are almost exclusively geometric or floral stylization, with the carnation being its characterization.

The embroidery is all made up of geometric zig-zag borders or based on a square or rectangle.

The stitches used are: Backstitch, single and double cross stitch or cross stitch, chain, square, short and long, quilting and past.

This magazine shows drawings, diagrams and full-color photos to apply to tablecloths, cushions, etc.
